Government Reviews Civil Servants’ Salaries Upwards

The Government has announced a newly reviewed salary structure for civil servants, with the adjustments set to take effect starting Tuesday, in a move aimed at cushioning public sector workers against rising living costs.

According to the revised pay framework, entry-level public service employees in the A3 grade will now earn between US$370 and US$375, marking an upward adjustment from previous earnings.

Workers in the B-grade category will receive salaries rising to approximately US$435, while mid-level officers under the C band will now earn around US$536.

Senior civil servants in the D grades have also seen significant adjustments, with salaries now approaching the US$900 threshold, peaking at US$897.

The salary review comes amid continued engagements between Government and public sector unions, who have consistently called for improved remuneration packages to match inflationary pressures and cost-of-living increases.

Authorities say the adjustment forms part of broader efforts to enhance morale within the public service and retain skilled personnel across key sectors such as health, education and administration.

More details on allowances and implementation modalities are expected to be released following the rollout of the new salary structure.
