Nelson Chamisa Denies Prime Minister Ambitions Amid Audio Leak Storm .
Never! It’s all lies. Zimbabwe is in such a mess because of liars and pretenders!
Opposition leader Nelson Chamisa has firmly dismissed claims that he sought to become Zimbabwe’s Prime Minister following alleged talks with President Emmerson Mnangagwa.
In a strongly worded response, Chamisa said his focus remains on delivering a “fresh start” for Zimbabwe, not engaging in political “sideshows or distractions.”
“Fellow citizens, I’m focused on the main show — finding a national solution to #CAB3… not distractions. My leadership effort is on a fresh start path ahead. The die is cast,” he said.
Chamisa emphasized that his actions are guided by integrity, accountability, and the national interest, urging citizens to dismiss what he described as “sting operations” designed to spread false narratives.
The remarks come after political activist Jelous Mawarire shared an audio clip allegedly involving discussions about a possible government arrangement. The authenticity and full context of the audio remain unclear.
Chamisa, however, dismissed the claims outright:
“Never! It’s all lies. Zimbabwe is in such a mess because of liars and pretenders.”
The developments have sparked renewed debate across the political landscape, with analysts warning that such leaks — verified or not — risk deepening mistrust in an already polarized environment.
